Title Description
Candidate profile and admission requirements
The recommended entry profile is that of graduates or graduates who are in any of the situations referred to in Article 6 and the second additional provision of Royal Decree 99/2011 of January 28 which have skills and knowledge in one of the main research lines involved in the PhD program:
- Tourism Economics
- Environmental Economics
- Welfare Economics
- Econometrics
The final admission of PhD students will be carried out by the academic committee of the doctoral program. In case the number of students who are pre-registered is greater than the number of students who can be admitted to the PhD program, the following criteria will be applied//ADMISSION WILL BE BASED ON CONSIDERATION OF:
- Undergraduate cumulative grade point average (from 0 to 2.5 points)
- Post Graduate cumulative grade point average of at least 7 (from 0 to 4 points).
- Previous work experience of students being related to the research lines involved in the PhD program (from 0 to 3 points, with 0-1 points resulting from this experience and 0-2 points resulting from a personal interview).
- Letters of recommendation (from 0 to 0.5 points, with 0.25 points per letter).

- (M1) Research Seminars.
- (M2) Seminars taught by doctoral students.
- (M3) Preparation of scientific reports
- (M4) Research stay at another center

General Objectives
The PhD program aims at developing the capacities of students to conduct research on Economics and address economic problems by means of flexible, adaptive, comprehensive and innovative solutions. Knowledge acquired during the PhD program will contribute to strengthen their academic skills as well as deepen and expand their professional expertise. Thus, the program will provide to students instruction oriented to developing their capacities to apply knowledge in Economics to different contexts, which will be useful for their career development in a variety of work settings, such as national and international universities and other institutions and companies (public and private research institutes and centers, R & D departments of companies and large corporations, etc.).

Les funcions de les CGQ dels títols oficials de la UIB són les següents:
- Vetllar per la qualitat del títol i del professorat.
- Verificar la implantació del SGIQ.
- Desplegar la política de qualitat de la institució en l'àmbit del títol, verificar-ne el compliment i retre'n comptes a la junta de centre o a l' Escola de Doctorat de la UIB .

- Revisar, analitzar i proposar accions de millora en relació amb la qualitat de l'ensenyament i del professorat.
- Elaborar la memòria anual de seguiment, avaluació i millora del títol i elevar-la a la junta de centre o a l' Escola de Doctorat de la UIB .
