This PhD programme trains researchers in microbiology and, especially, professionals who are able to:
- Contribute to future scientific progress and extend the threshold of knowledge in the field of microbiology
- Communicate their scientific contributions to microbiology experts, the rest of the academic community and society in general
- Promote aspects and advances in microbiology within an academic, professional or social setting, and specifically those areas that offer progress for society.
What will you learn?
Desenvolupar un projecte d’investigació que pretén resoldre un programa complex. Això implica un estudi i comprensió sistemàtica del problema i el disseny i execució d’un projecte de recerca original.
Anàlisi crítica i avaluació dels resultats del projecte, amb elaboració de noves idees complexes que contribueixin a progressar en el coneixement, sempre amb respecte a codis ètics i de bones pràctiques professionals.
Comunicar aspectes relacionats amb la investigació o el coneixement existent a un ampli ventall d’interlocutors, tant en l’entorn acadèmic com a la societat en general.
Desenvolupar capacitats per al treball en equip, multidisciplinari, i la interacció amb altres grups d’investigació d’àmbit nacional o internacional.
What will you be able to do once you finish?
Continue a research career, initially by following a post-doctoral training programme that should finally lead to a permanent position as a researcher at an institute or university.
Join the private sector as a project supervisor or manager.
Develop your own business project and/or undertake consultancy work.
